Crafty Secrets September Linky Party! Painted burlap place settings

Can you even believe that it's September already? Fall is around the corner and I'm slowly shifting gears and stating to think of all the things I love about Autumn. Specifically gatherings around the table. Even brunch can feel like a special occasion with these painted burlap bag place settings and gorgeous tags made with Crafty secrets papers and stamps. They are really easy to make, let me show you how!

I don't have a huge paint collection so I blended a tiny bit of white paint with Tsukineko walnut inks in Eucalyptus and terra cotta. I taped off the bag with painters tape to create the stripes I chose two wide stripes, but you can add as many as you like. I used a paintbrush to mix the color and apply the paint mixture. Burlap is very absorbent so it will drink up the paint, but dries fast.

After the bags are dry, peel the tape away and set aside while you get your tags made.

I cut my tags with the Silhouette Cameo using papers from the Thanksgiving collection and the brown paisley digital collection. You can also use a tag punch, or embellish a pre-made tag.

I used this adorable acorn image from the Thanksgiving collection and punched it out with a scallop square punch, the edges are inked in brown and added to the tag along with a gold doily, lace ribbon and a vintage button.

I say this all the time, but I really do mean it...I love little touches like these that make others feel special, welcome and appreciated. {Don't get me wrong} A gathering of course would be no less warm and cherished without them, but all the more memorable and personal because of their addition!
