Vintage Neon- wait whaaaaat?

That's right neon colors are hot hot hot! They were all the rage in the 80's but I'm not stuck in the past... neon colors can be toned down a bit and updated by using them in new and totally unexpected ways like this vintage inspired look. I have to admit the idea of neon pink paired with lace may seem a little out of the ordinary..but that is the whole idea! Old and new collide in a bright beautiful {non blinding} way!

I stamped this Pink Paislee Cake in 3 bright colors and paper pieced the cake on a yellow cake plate and coated the whole confection with coarse glitter. A bitty punched flower with a neon pink center is toned down a little with glitter as well. I scrunched a paper doily to use as the circle base layer and to add softness and dimension.

A bright green bow embellished with a glowing pink button and white cotton thread, an itty bitty tag and a flag on a pearl pin. There are many neon and bright scrapbooking and craft supplies out there, but the secret to making it work for you is to mix these with your other crafting supplies to create your own personal style. The key to updating neon is not to go overboard! {I know I'm usually a more is more girl}

All of the patterned papers are from the Pink Paislee Soiree, as well as the stamps. The neon cardstock and ribbon are available at Michael's crafts. Martha Stewart crafts also has a pack of neon glitters and paints.
For this card I loosely followed the deconstructed sketch #52 I thought this sketch was a lot of fun, and you all know how much I love to work with a sketch!

If you are checking in to see who the FIVE lucky pink Gypsy sleeve winners are, here you go!
Congratulations to:
