Pink Elephants On Parade

This week is all about baby. I have planned an entire baby shower for you. The shower theme is "pink elephants on parade" Of course this theme will work just as well for a boy.I also think a great neutral color combo is gray and yellow...very chic indeed!

No matter what the color, this tutorial will have you ready to to throw {or attend} a shower with style!

Want to make a favor that will make a lasting impression? These treat folders are quick to assemble, perfect for mass producing, and will work for almost any type of little gift.

10 x 4.25 piece of card stock, patterned paper, brad
Provocraft Cuttlebug embossing folder (swiss dots used here)
cello bag, circus peanuts
ribbon, elephant template
scallop square die, Zip Dry Glue from Beacon Adhesives,

How to:
Score card stock in landscape position at 1", 4" and 5", emboss. Use embossing border if desired on top flap.
cut out center with scallop square die. Print elephant onto patterned paper, insert brad for eye, and cut out ear using contrasting color. Fill cello bag with treats, and adhere to folder. Wrap ribbon around folder and tie a bow, adhere elephant.

Another fast favor idea!! I found these elephant shaped loofahs at pier1 I made a quick tag and attached a packet of bath fizzies in a pretty organza bag. This is a sweet but luxurious way to say "thank you" to each of the guests.

This elephant shaped card is pretty easy, the template is printed out at 4X6,so it will fit into an A2 size envelope. I added a fringed blanket to make this elephant a little more fancy. You will need a complimentary color of embroidery floss, a small hole punch, and a needle with a large eye.

Place patterned paper in center of template.

Punch holes across bottom of "blanket" spacing evenly.

Thread floss through and tie in a double knot.

Trim floss straight across.

Isn't this template fabulous? Please visit little birdie secrets to get a copy of this adorable printable template, and leave them a comment to say thanks for the wonderful elephant!! {the post is also called elephants on parade :)  }

I made a soft pink flannel blanket lined with this super cute elephant fabric from Joann's, this fabric set the tone for the entire shower. I was inspired by this print, to follow through with the pink, yellow and chocolate color scheme. Always keep an open mind when planning any event, inspiration is all around you!

This towel is made with a coordinating print, this was the springboard for the theme name of "pink elephants on parade" They look like they are marching along a path don't they? There are some wonderful commercial patterns available to make nursery necessities, this really allows for a custom gift.

I found this cuddly, and precious elephant "lovie" by carters at my local department store, I tied it to the gift wrapped package to serve as a decorative element, and as a way to follow with the shower story. There are dozens of ways to incorporate the baby shower theme into your gift giving.
