Double Thanks

My planner is filled with things to do today, and this might surprise you, but I'm thankful for that! I have my Amazon echo playing piano pieces in the background and sipping iced coffee while I power through my list. I'm thankful for life in Florida getting back to "normal-ish" anyways, and I have some people to thank for helping me get through the storm and its after effects, so a few thank you cards were in need.

I'm not the type of maker that waits for a reason to make a card, I love having them on hand all the time, and it dawned on me as I was making these that I could in fact use them right away!

I used a cuttlebug die to make the sentiment and layered it over a tag nestled on a SRM doily and a few die cut leaves.

A bow of bakers twine in that delightful shade of teal that is becoming so infused into fall decor that it feels like it always has been a fall color! I love that splash of blue that adds such a happiness to fall.

To the sentiments and the leaves I painted on a bit of shimmer with a wink of stella pen, so easy and so pretty! I actually love how that one pen can replace some other products and be a true multitasker! In my pursuit to minimize that is a win win!

Have a great day, and be thankful for whatever your planner has on it because that means you are being productive and moving forward with your life goals.....even if reading a good book is all you have planned!

Boo Means Trick Or Treat

Hiya! Thank you for visiting me, as Halloween gets closer by the day so does my level of excitement! Around here Halloween festivities rival any other occasion for the top spot, and it is easy to get swept up in all the fun. We decorate, go to haunted houses, and anticipate the stream of "trick or treaters" knocking on the door the way some wait for the release of the next star wars movie.

In short we love this time of year.

Each year I gather up little gifts to give my lovies and make them trick or treat for them, it is a silly tradition that even as adults my girls treasure. I wanted a cute little container to fill with some pretty lip color, or something equally sweet.

I cut these adorable candy containers with my silhouette Cameo and they were surprisingly easy to assemble, and cuter in person than you can imagine!

I added these chipboard ghosts and a little sentiment from SRM Halloween stickers by the dozen along with a few little sequins. To close the ends in a way that is easy to open I added a jute twine bow in black, super cute!!!

Fall Blessings

Last week we were all glued to the weather channel watching each mile hurricane Irma traveled, while awaiting Florida's impact I distracted myself with a bit of creating. It was calming, and did serve to pull my attention away from the news for a short time.

I stamped the Pumpkin from Verve stamps bountiful harvest set onto white cardstock in versamark ink and embossed it in gold. I then and colored it in with copics and added a reverse embossing splatter.

I used my Silhouette cameo to create the frame and the fall sentiment also embossed with gold powder. A few sequins, and a little clear sticker from SRM thanksgiving express yourself sticker sheet.

I love how crisp yet warm and "pumpkin spice" this card feels, like a hug in an envelope!
Have a great day!! XOXO Shantaie

Candy Corn and Trick or Treat

There are two kinds of people in this world, those who love candy corn and those who don't, even if you aren't part of the candy corn tribe can we all agree that it is one of the most adorable fall icons ever!? To distract me from all the hurricane Irma news, and the sound of wind, rain and branches blowing I have been spending some time with my Silhouette, and I'm testing out my new premium blade.

One sure way to test your blade is to cut glitter cardstock and so far it's still super sharp.
Last season I fell in love with a candy corn die that lots of bloggers were using, I wanted to get my hands on that die...like really "needed" it.....it was sold out and I didn't get one. This is why I love owning a die cutting machine for not only ease of use, but it saves space and money, I can cut almost anything...so I found a candy corn design and now I can tweak it to make shaker cards, vinyl,or anything!
This glittery card is so stinkin' cute it may even lure some of you over to the dark side and love candy corn too! ;)
