I'm thankful for so much, the little things and the everyday things....... maybe more than I can express. The sweetness of an iced pumpkin spice latte, the cool air finally making its way south, and the feeling of anticipation that friends and family will be gathering together soon!
I made this card using Verve stamps bountiful harvest stamp set
I spent today cleaning my garage, at first I was overwhelmed with all that needed to be sorted, and cleaned but after a truckload donated and a few bags tossed I was ready to really embrace the changes I've been working towards. I can't say minimalism is my end goal, but a more thankful, purposeful lifestyle is. I am more thankful for all the items I chose to keep, and certainly for the ease of finding what I'm looking for next time I head to the garage!
Now if I could only find an easy way to choose my Thanksgiving menu! I have pinned sooooo many recipes ...and the shopping...not my favorite part of cooking!

I know what you're thinking....I'm a floridian what do I know about snow days! Not a lot in truth, I have spent holidays in the snow but the closest we get to a snow day here in the sunshine state is in our dreams!
I love snowflakes, they are one of my favorite images, and despite the rarity of flurries here, I often embellish my holidays with them in every room! I even have a snowflake pendant I wear from the day after Thanksgiving til the first day of spring!
I pulled out the Holiday stash, and this is my first official Christmas card of 2016 ..I think I may be a bit behind, but what more perfect way to start! Happy creating my friends!

I made a pink white and black calendar suite to give as a gift using beautiful and sometimes whimsical stamps, stickers, and accents from SRM Stickers I spent an afternoon planning, and playing around with my set, the execution was not really too lengthy but I did turn on the music in my studio and just enjoyed the process!
I love these crisp yet soft colors, so beautiful!
The calendar is featured on the SRM press blog today and all the details can be found there, I just love the way it came together, a unique look for each month, but a suite of pinks running through the year.
Have you ever made a mini calendar set before? I would love to see your ideas!

I recently adopted a clean eating lifestyle ( with the exception of the occasional pumpkin spice latte...but that's another story) and I really truly waffled back and forth about Halloween treats. I way over thought this people...way!!!
However in the end I came to the decision that Halloween for kiddos is all about the candy, and hello, I'm not messing with that!
I had fun bagging up these treats in a simple kraft bag and layers of cute Halloween images.
The papers are from my spooky stash and combine a mix of my little shoebox, American crafts, and SRM stickers
I found these glittered cobwebs at Michaels earlier in the season, and I have made good use of the pack I picked up, I have put them on almost everything!
The kraft bags are from SRM and I love shopping from my desk for supplies like these that can be used for absolutely any occasion! I keep a dozen or more on hand at all times!
That sheer and spooky gauze was found in the decorating area of Michael's Halloween section, and I thought "oh that will be gorgeous as ribbon for cards" (because I talk to myself in my head when I shop just like everyone else) right? :)
I'm sure the kiddos will much happier with the treats full of candy and handmade with love bags, that a plastic ring or bouncing eyeball.... okay a bouncing eyeball would have been pretty cool too!
Have a wonderful weekend filled with ghosts, goblins, and of course candy...it's all about the candy!

Today on the SRM blog I tell you all about adding Vinyl to a craft pumpkin for fall decorating! I love pumpkins, and even though I do always mix natural and crafty pumpkins, sometimes it gets a bit dull. Adding a bit of vinyl is just the thing to spark a little creativity to your home, porch, or yard for fall!
Here is a recipe for a guilt free fall treat from stupid easy paleo yummy!!!

Last year I read the life changing magic of tidying up, I was already in the process of "purging" my home and felt this book could help me. At first I didn't see how the book could teach me more about letting go of clutter, but I read it to completion, and the message really struck a chord within me.
I have lived in the same house for over 20 years and growing up my family moved a lot, and I didn't realize that I held onto things just in case.... or because I held sentimental value in items stored in an attic .....I'm no hoarder, not even close, but I have taken truck loads to donate, truckloads to the curb, and I still have a home and a shed FULL of things! Difference is now I can actually use, love, and access them without a crane or a crowbar! ;)
I'm not 100 done with my tidying, but I will tell you the craftroom was the hardest, and to be honest I procrastinated doing this room because so many items help sentimental connections to past design teams, favorite crafts, and memories. PLUS there were thousands upon thousands of little things to sort through!
Don't cringe and decide not to ever tackle your crafty spaces, I pinky promise it is worth it! I kept only what I actually use, and love. As a bonus I discovered new ways to use some old favorite supplies, and I also let go of years and years of my paper stash, fabric stash, and stamp sets. After all whats the point in outdated papers, or fabrics, I found that the patterns were out of style and the possibility of using them was slim to none, and space is premium in any craft area am I right???
Some things were hard to let go of, really hard. But in the end I have a space that is even more beautiful, functional, and inspiring than ever before! So worth the time and effort....and you know what? I have not missed a single thing I let go of!
I even have space to decorate for the seasons!!!
my spooky desk display!
If you need to take a few hours, days, or weeks to clear it out and make room for mojo, trust me once it's over you will thank yourself over and over again!!!
Have you tidied up?Share your stories!!

Today on the SRM blog I'm sharing my very first designed planner page!
I use a planner every single day, take a look at this post to see why I had never made my pages anything more than utilitarian!
I have grown to LOVE making my planner fun, beautiful, and even more useful!

I spent some quiet time coloring after hurricane Matthew moved north of my area, reflecting how lucky we are to have only some slight damage and limbs to clean up.
Today is a new day it is sunny and beautiful, no meteorological evidence that a hurricane was ever here, only a drive through the neighborhood can tell the tale!
I found a haggard little tree frog in my bathroom this morning, covered in lint and weary, I picked him up and he seemed he wanted to go to sleep, I cleaned him up of lint and his him in a wet little shrub to rest, such a cute little guy, just like the little mouse above!
I stamped and colored these on mixed media paper, it's smooth and thick and quickly becoming my favorite paper! I started with the idea of doing a shaker card, but in the end a dimensional window was just as fun!
I used copics to color, and the mixed media paper is perfectly suited to layers of blending!
The tags were made using SRM Live Life Halloween stickers and were tied to the window with natural twine
I just love that pop of green don't you? Remember when Halloween was orange and black only? I love adding unexpected color to Halloween, like blue, or pink!
Have a wonderful weekend friends, enjoy all the Autumn goodness you can!!!

The last 24 hours we have been experiencing hurricane Matthew, lots of wind and some rain, I still have power so inking up my brand new Verve stamp set seemed an obvious way to spend this time!! We are under mandatory curfew, and EVERYTHING is closed so camp craftroom is buzzing with activity! :)
I stamped these lil pumpkins from Verve bountiful harvest in white on watercolor paper and colored them with markers and a damp paintbrush, a bit of watercolor paint in the background and a few odds and ends! almost as sweet as candy pumpkins!
All joking aside, thousand of people have been affected by this storm, we are very very lucky that we were spared the worst of Matthew when it wobbled east. my heart goes out to them!

For whatever the reason, I need to create...the kind of need that is hard to explain to another person, especially those who are not motivated by creativity. I may not NEED a Halloween card at this moment, but at this moment I NEED to MAKE a Halloween card!
A bit of water coloring, a few Silhouette cuts and a bit of stitching did a lot of good for artsy soul! I'm also avoiding the sugar monster that is standing right behind me all day!!! I am giving up sugar and y'all it is hard! ( have you seen all that pretty Halloween candy out there?!)
Don't you love the way watercolors blend into each other all randomly to make those gorgeous gradient colors! The hard part for me is being patient enough to let it dry completely.... I may be guilty of using the heat tool every now and then!
There is nothing I don't love about Halloween! do you love it as much as I do?

I can't think of a better way to usher in the brand new month of October than to share this pumpkin patch card featured on the SRM blog yesterday. Its full of fall hues behind those all important and beloved icons of autumn -the pumpkin.
I was inspired by all those lovely cards on pinterest highlighting a blurred stamped image in watercolor, how gorgeous they are! These mini works of art have me wanting to get lost in the gradient colors fading into one another like a sunset!
The Autumn blessing stamp set is super gorgeous, just perfect for all things October! I can't imagine not using it over and over this month!

Hi! Have you been out shopping lately? Candy corn fills the shelves, the craft stores are full of Halloween and fall decor and supplies to spook up your home, it's so exciting! I could honestly get amped about making Halloween all year long! Around here Halloween gets top billing in the Holiday dept.
I found this adorable stamp set complete with a die for the black cat at Michaels last week, and you can expect the set to make quite a few appearances by the end of October, it's just so cute!
I started watching Bates Motel on Netflix and colored my way through the first 2 episodes, I figured it's a good kickoff to scary movie and Tv season! (who am I kidding I love that stuff all year long!)
I'm off to another celtic festival work weekend, I do love the highland games, such fun people always! Have a great day!

Hi! I'm happy to share with you, that my struggle to remove diet coke from my daily routine is slowly but surely
getting easier! coming along!
I'm keeping my thoughts sunny and upbeat and I try not to talk about or think about all the withdrawal symptoms... so happy I have not only super supportive people around me, but I have this creative outlet to help!!! Crafting has enhanced my life in so many ways, but I'm most grateful for the escape and happiness it has always given me!
I stamped this gorgeous sunflower from the Autumn Blessings stamp set embossed it with white ink and set myself up to color for a while! I layered in on a simple yellow patterned paper lined with a tiny strip of black and white stripes and a bow of charcoal and marigold bakers twine
Calm satisfying fun!

Hi!!!It's been over a month since my last post, so I thought maybe I should hop back on the saddle and..... well a horse riding metaphor sounded clever in my head, buts lets be honest here, I have never ridden a horse in my life- sooooooo let's just keep it real, I dusted off the stamp sets and spent a little time being crafty!
I'm still in New York and wish I could report fall like temperatures, but so far it's still summer in full effect, the nights are perfect and some trees are starting to change! I've never seen a full blown Northern fall in person, but I do enjoy my Florida autumns!
I used the Autumn blessings stamp set and watercolored the acorns for this card along with a silhouette word cut.The background is embossed with a wood grain folder, and I enlisted the help of a SRM clear sticker for my greeting and a banner of burlap ribbon to tie it all together!
I always get a little excited when the seasons change and the colors are so rich and "new" to decorate with! Fall foods, and boot season!!! Oh man I love boot season! :)

I'm proud and excited to announce that I made the 2016-2017 SRM design team!!!! I make because I love to make, and I use SRM because I love SRM! Serving another term on this team is a gift to a person like me, but maybe not for all the obvious reasons that a reader might think...... a gift because this is how my day went:
I wake up and oh joy a rare day off!!! my plan: " have lunch, stamp, paint, and watercolor all day" write my post and done. but what actually happened....
lunch was altered into needing to do company accounting and payroll a day early since one of my managers had to leave town, a few minutes later discover that my cellar is flooded...3" of standing water!!! hustle to clean it up and rescue my belongings all drenched and muddy. a late dinner and family meeting of my daughters boyfriend for the first time!!!! (yikes under any circumstances)
My life is seemingly full of these types of days, in fact more often than I care to admit. :)
Finally time to work on my card and calm the day, I stamp, and paint, and watercolor these flowers and the stress of the day is wiped away. I'm happy, energised, and creative. This outlet, quite literally transforms me into a better version of myself, the self I like the most, a peaceful vibrant more alive person. So you see... a gift!!!
Thank you Susan for trusting me to represent you and the vision you have for your company, and more than anything thank you for allowing me to be part of this amazing team!

Weddings are often thought of in whites and pastels, but a bold sophisticated black is stunning paired with a doily and a few sequins!
This card was on the SRM blag a few days back and I just love seeing a card I enjoyed making on the blog and on Pinterest, it brings back the happiness of the making process for me...I know I'm so sentimental, but with life so out of control sometimes resparking a good feeling is just what the "Dr. ordered" :)
I Topped the doily with a round take 2 stickers by the dozen wedding sticker in the center, and added a single row border from the same wedding sticker sheet. The simplest little twine bow is placed just above the border....because I love the softness of a little bit of twine!
To place the sequins I just dropped a small handful of metallic neutrals and glued them exactly where they fell, easy and random!
I love that this wedding card could also double as an anniversary card, and is clean and simple enough to make in a hurry and still have time to wrap a gift before dashing out the door! :)

I cut this adorable crab with my Silhouette and added a bit of olive ink to his edges and used the bistro chalk marker to add a few crustacean-esque spots and highlights. He is way too adorable!!
Two hands in the air for lazy days of summer! This guy is pretty excited about his sign, made from a white banner and the August monthly memories sticker. How can you not smile when you see this crabby!!!
Have a fun and maybe even lazy summer day!

I'm featured on the SRM blog today with the following post:
Containers, are one of my favorite crafty products, clear containers that offer a colorful peek-a-boo inside are probably the most fun ever! Simple circus peanuts are elevated to gift worthy status all lined up in this clear box!
A panel of patterned paper is embellished with a sweet baby elephant holding a balloon. The balloon is highlighted with a white bistro chalk marker and a twisting twine bow in cantaloupe.
I added a simple greeting of baby love from the we've got your border baby girl and a border from the baby sentiment sheet.
Making favors, gifts, or packages of any kind is just a little more fun and eye catching with a clear box!

I made a batch of sugar cookies using these fred cookies cutters they were super fun to decorate!!!
Now all kidding aside sharks are beautiful creatures that need to be protected and understood, as a family we love and respect sharks. We love all the cheesy gory movies as much as the next guy, but we implore everyone to learn about the animal and how they help modern medicine, and the ecosystem as a whole.
