My 2015 Halloween House

This post is photo heavy...
so grab some Halloween candy and a Pumpkin spice latte and scroll along!
These are a few of our Halloween decorations around the house, we still haven't carved pumpkins or had a big scary movie party or put up the big graveyard outside. The house however has been done for weeks so I could enjoy it in all its spooky glory all month long!

I'm not the best home photographer, that takes a special talent I have yet to master, so squint and turn your head to make the shot look great! :)

This is my dining room hutch usually the home for all of my pink glass, but at Halloween its a potions cabinet!

I'll be posting about these bags in a few days, I made them as favor bags for the scary movie party on Friday! Can you guess the theme?

My cousin Lisa got these for me a long time ago and I just love them!!!

So there it is! Thanks for walking around my house with me! I had fun decorating, and even more fun living with the spooky-ness this month! I will be a little sad to put it all away to make room for the Turkey! mmmmmm Turkey!

Wish bigger

I had to take a little break from all the Black and Orange, scary movie party planning is in full swing and as much as I love all things Halloween I need a color boost!
A dose of pink always puts me in a happy mood, and this card is not only packed with pink-ness it also has all my favorite shades! The sun is shining, I'm almost over my seasonal cold and I have the week off from work, so it's a sparkling kind of day!

I like running a stitch through thickers to make sure they stay put and to add a detail that brings the eye to the focal point of the card. I use a really long stitch length so my machine doesn't hiccup at each letter, like a 3.5 or 4 setting works for me. I use a universal needle and go slow to medium speed, o trailblazing over these!

I feel calmed and refreshed now that a bit of pink and pretty have centered me, its time to veer back over to the dark side and get more scary movie deeds done. I really think its going to be the best party yet ( yes I say this every year) and ( yes it is getting harder and harder to top the last one) if only it weren't so darn much fun!!!!

Halloween paper bags-o-plenty

Treat or Treat! Halloween is closing in, and I have been having so much fun preparing my home, and planning our annual scary movie party, I have been to haunted houses, making treat containers, and I've been loving it all!
These simple orange paper bags have been totally transformed with a few little vintage images from crafty secrets, doilies from SRM and this super festive Holiday fringe ( oh how I love paper fringe)

A few little foil circles for sparkle! and a flair button on each bag of chocolate filled cuteness! I love that owl perched atop the jack-o-lantern! :)

I have said it many many .....oh so many times, but giving gifts is one of my favorite things in the world to do! even if its just a sweet little bag of chocolate!

Have a sweet day! XOXO Shantaie

All smiles

A little while back I stumbled upon a shop in Palmyra New York that is just a living breathing fall wonderland. Smiling Jack-o-lanterns, pumpkins, candles, and leaves of all types, I decorated my home for Halloween following their lead of vintage styled smiling pumpkins and plenty of them!

I loved the idea of white embossed pumpkins on orange, and the result is so fun and fresh! I used two different Stampin'Up! sets to stamp my smiles and embossed in white powder, the paper flowers were peach so I shaded them with copic markers. and tied a lace cluster with 4 strands of SRM bakers twine

Have a lovely day filled with smiles!XOXO Shantaie

Pumpkin Candy Containers

Pumpkin Candy Containers

Our American lives are steeped in traditions, some have lost their meaning long ago and we often have no idea where the traditions originated. This does not stop us from loving these holiday icons. They link us to our childhood memories, like candy filled plastic pumpkins with those toothy grins. Like most of you I have an absolute love of celebrations!

My paper pumpkin containers are a step beyond the plastic pumpkin with its uncomfortable sweaty handle { I live in Florida where Halloween is almost always as humid as the 4th of July} These candy containers were cut with the Silhouette and designed by Sweet Afton  I added a paper flower and a twine tied tag with a Halloween sentiment from SRM stickers.

Both containers received a trim of black glass glitter and a bit of vintage lace, at the edge of the lid. Like I said a little prettier than the beloved plastic pail that inspired my version of a candy container

My craftroom is strewn with paperwork from last weeks Biketoberfest in Daytona, not much crafty space available, so I will have to sort all of that so I can sprinkle glitter or make macabre paper bats for our upcoming Halloween party!

I think I will make some soup, watch a fun Halloween movie and try very very hard not to eat the Halloween candy I git to fill these containers! ;)
Make something pretty, or spooky, and have fun!

A Big Big Happy Birthday!

Just popping in with a quick post and a little {big} cupcake door hanger I made for Cricut magazine a while back. sometimes its super fun to start the celebration before the guests come in the door!

The cupcake itself is actually pretty simple and quick, lots of tape to be sure, but not at all hard to make! Embellishments can be sparse for a masculine birthday or over the top for a girls soiree! Just have fun with it!

Thanks for stopping by, please feel free to leave a comment below to say "hi" or let me know what you are up to these days!
