2015 Shakers

Rainy day crafty time! I have a ton of Graduations this year, Birthdays, and a brand new baby niece! All of these occasions require cards.....and gifts! My poor wallet! My Silhouette however is a happy as can be to be so busy! Such happy events all around me, I can't help but be in a good crafty mood! {forgive the less than quality photos. I waited all day but the gray skies and rain are here to stay!}

I used a frame style cut from Silhouette to create a card base for a shaker card, with the addition of a graduation cap, ribbon and sequins this card is ready to send!

Congratulations to all of you with graduating friends, family and loved ones! You know your support in the past as well as in the future makes this world a better place, so great job...well done you!

Banana Cream Pie

Today is a beautiful sunny day full of sweet possibilities and to top it off I'm up on the SRM blog today with a confection themed layout! My challenge was to combine chalk markers and scrumptious sticker stitches on a layout! what fun!!!

I swped the totle after writing freehand to give it a real chalky effect! I love that chalk markers work on cardstock too!

And yes I really do make Banana cream pie the old fashioned way cooking milk and sugar, no artificial colors, flavors or goo, just real ingredients and time required! It is a treat like no other! I do love to bake, and this pie is a family favorite...so much so that I wanted to honor the memory by scrapping it and keeping it for the girls to have forever!

Hop over to the SRM blog for all the details and complete list of "ingredients!"

Heartfelt Thanks

Hey out there! Well I'm back in my tiny craft space in the corner of my cottage bedroom and it is a real challenge to create in such a small space with limited supplies! You should see the comedy that is me. Imagine me trying to clear a spot to stamp or literally using a paper cutter on the bed, it has to be more ridiculous to watch than one of those overly dramatic product commercials...

you know the type that promises their product will transform your life! Yeah that's how silly I look! LOL However never one to back down from a challenge, I will create and I will embrace the fact that I do at least have a space with great light and a napping spot is always close by! :)

I managed to compete a card {hold your applause} it took 2 hours no joke! But mostly because I couldn't find anything! Oh and I was watching Netflix! My other addiction, seriously binge watching seasons of a good show is like the best thing ever invented! especially since I don't really watch TV

I love this color combo, and that arrow stamp is a new favorite! It's a keeper huh?

I'm forever in need of Thank you cards because :
 A. I was raised in the south {even if it was by wolves} and I believe in saying "Thank you", and
 B. I am truly truly thankful for all the things people do for me, my family or my business and that requires a thank you card!

Big things or small things, big craftroom or tiny craft space I am thankful for all that comes my way! I'm all "optimistic and sunny" like that..... ;)

Make today and everyday a crafty adventure, create your own comedy, and no matter what have fun! XOXOShantaie

Dads Mini Bar

One of my latest team challenges was to use SRM Tubes and kraft boxes to create a fathers day gift set. After lots of talking out loud the idea for a "mini bar" was born! What could be more fun than a Tiki bar? A Tiki bar all dressed up and ready to give!!!

For the complete tutorial pop on over to the SRM blog step by step diesctions and links to all the products used!

Even if your guy isn't a margarita lover, you can fill the tubes with candies, macadamias or treats!

I had a lot of fun building this little Tiki bar, and it went together really quickly! Give it a shot, {every pun intended}

:)  Happy creating XOXO~ Shantaie

Popsicle cuties

These cute felt Popsicles were sent out a couple of weeks ago to accompany the all the sweet baby supplies for my niece who is soon to be here!  I had such a fun time stitching these little adorables, that I may have a new obsession in my future! ;)

Of course I went in search of a Popsicle pattern after I fell in love with the stinkin' cute layette set by Carters that I picked up from Target, so a plan was in place......... popsicles and ladybugs became the theme! I used simple inexpensive felt and premium stuffing. for the features I used a washable fabric glue and advised the Mommy to not let baby chew on them!
{Big sister already loves them, I'm pretty sure they are hers now} ;)

Can you even handle the cute? I can't!!!

The card that I sent with the set because as much as I love those Popsicles,I had to get the ladybug in there too!

I'm sure you have not seen the last of felt plushies from me....oh how fun they are!

Happy creating~ XOXO

Little wittle Love

In preparation for the arrival of my niece I put together a box of essentials and a few not so essential but oh so cute things to send off to my sister in law...and of course a few little things for the other kiddos too!! Meagan and I decided to go with a ladybugs and Popsicle theme taking a cue from some adorable newborn sets we spotted at Target! I will share more of the total package in a few days!!!!

Oh how much fun I had with this theme! I love summer babies!  The adorable bug by Lisa Norris on the card was cut with the Silhouette and the rest was punched or hand cut.

As you can see I'm still loving a splash of gold on everything! I had such a hard time with my white gel pen, that I ended up going over it with my white fine chalk marker from SRM, it worked so well that I tossed the gel pens in the round file! :)

Here is a teeny peek at the set before I wrapped it up, but I can't wait to show you the whole kit and kaboodle! I had totally planned to do an all pink Noah's ark theme, but I was tempted all too easily over to the "dark side" and pink and yellow won! LOL

no regrets here! look at that cuteness!

Happy days y'all pop back in soon!

Under The Sea

Hey! I'm splashing in with a Cricut card I made for the Cricut Circle a while back, I go through my pictures and see sooooooo many projects that were published a long time ago that I haven't shared and I want to try to catch up! Plus it helps me to see how I have evolved as a paper crafter!

I remember loving the coarse glitter that looks a little like salt! I don't recall what Cartridge this cut is from, but I do know the papers were from Cosmo Cricket, it was such an adorable collection of papers!

Happy Friday to you!  Just keep swimming~ Shantaie

Seams to me, May Crafty Secrets Anything goes

The May Crafty Secrets linky party theme is "anything goes" using the new digital scraps pages! I decided to have a little vintage sewing fun! I love all the colorful and delicate images on the mini vintage scraps pages, so many ways to use these tiny bits to create a big look!

I adore sewing ephemera, as a once upon a time clothing designer I still have lots of labels and tags in my stash like this dry clean only tag that I tucked under a paper flower. You can easily snip the size or care labels from tag sale items and use them on your projects for a little extra element!

I made two embellished tags also made using the mini vintage scrap pages to slip into this kraft pillow box from SRM , what a perfect little sleeve for tags! To highlight an image or section of your scraps, frame them with a library tag or a mini resin frame! the eye goes directly to the beautiful girl in the scene!

To create the flower on my package I punched out several circles and inked the entire edge with brown ink. I crumpled up the circles and peeled the cradstock apart to make think papery circles layered them by adding a glue dot in between the circles and adhering them together. Let them be wonky and crumpled for a vintage look, top with a button or a snap to add to the sewing theme, place over a bow of ribbon and gold elastic tuck in a pin, and a tag and your all set!

I invite you to join our challenge to make something new and to add your link here to play along! Be sure to visit the entire team ad the Crafty Secrets blog to see tons of fun ideas using the new digital scraps!
