Crafty Secrets mixed media linky party and a full tutorial

Hey welcome to another Crafty secrets linky party, this month the challenge is to create something unique, useful, or just beautiful employing multiple types of supplies. Its fun to push yourself out of your comfort zone and maybe try something new or even better to dust off a stash of crafty objects that have been waiting to shine!  For this project I used Crafty secrets springtime love butterfly digital stamp.

Lets get right into the tutorial, there are lots of pictures but they are easy step by step instructions!

Most any type of paint will work.

A shimmery paint of any type, I just love glimmer mist!!!

I used the trace and offset functions on my Silhouette to create a cut file from the hardware stamp set.

I originally planned to use the butterfly to a card or a scrapbook page, but in the end I decided to create a sweet little frame made from chipboard.

This looks so pretty in my bedroom, I'm glad I challenged myself to play around with mixed media to create something totally new and totally unique! printing onto book paper may be a new obsession!!!

Squeeee! I love, love, love this! It's such a genius technique and so brilliant that you used the stamp as a stencil. Wowee! The colors are gorgeous, too! Fab tutorial and totally inspiring! Thanks, Shantaie!

I wouldn't have thought to see those book papers together to make the butterfly. How ingenious that was. Does look good on your table.
