With Love Darling

Can you believe it? Its the last day of the year! We have 365 days of blank canvas ahead of us, how fortunate we are to have this year to look forward to, to see what adventures await?
I try not to make too many promises or resolutions for the new year is just not my way. I don't swear to eat better, or stop procrastinating, I make no vows of better budgeting or saving money in the new year, I try to make those types of life altering choices when i'm fully committed to them.

The new year mostly brings to mind  the memories I have of the previous year, the concerts, the new favorite songs, fun outings with friends, and how may times I laughed. how many times I cried. What and who do I love, did I live each day to the fullest? what will be my one little word this year? To reflect with happiness that I have grown as a person, and continue to grow even when growing hurts.

So my New Years wish for myself and for all of you, is that each day is made with love my darlings, every choice is made with love, every moment, every thought, every breath is made with love.

With Love My Darlings..... XOXO Shantaie
Happy New Year!

I love the look and feel of New Years, the pop of gold and silver, the countdown, the champagne bubbles, the first minute of a brand new year! How exciting and exhilarating! That was the spirit that took me over when I decided to sit and make handmade confetti...pros: I did use up a bunch of scraps, and its perfect for a custom color blend! Cons: it took such a long time add to the pros: I watched a couple of episodes of my current favorite Netflix show while mindlessly punching, and chopping!
Bottom line: Confetti is much easier to buy :)

I used my all time favorite TUBE from SRM and you can see the entire post on the SRM blog with all the details, links and typical silliness you have come to expect from me!

I can't wait to pop the top off of these and fill the air with floating swirling confetti of happiness! Followed by a coin flip to see who will have to clean it up..... I mean it can stay on the floor all sparkly for a while right?

Happy New Year Stars

The nights here are warm, and New Years promises to be just as balmy and tropical as the last few months have been. When the clock strikes midnight I think I'll be likely to see palm leaves swaying in the breeze among the fireworks!

A fun row of SRM sticker stitches tops a glitter backed "happy" followed by a new year sticker again from SRM, the greeting in its entirety is gorgeous!

Sparkling stars, a sparkling pom pom tied with shimmer bakers twine, and sequins all add to the required glitz and glam of New years. Paired with pink and teal these glimmering colors seriously pop like a firecracker!

Vintage Santa Tag

Sometimes I wish Christmas was two months long, so I could make everything I plan on making, or at the very least I always wish I had started earlier :)
A big kraft tag is always welcome on my gift list, and with all these bits of trim, lace and floral finery even more so!

This totally adorable cherub cheeked Santa is a vintage image from Crafty Secrets and is framed by a gold foil doily for that perfect touch of sparkle to catch the lights under the tree. Now if only Santa would grant my wish of a two month long Christmas :)

December Crafty Secrets Tutorial and Linky Party

Hi and welcome to another fun Crafty secrets Linky party challenge! This month is anything goes as long as we use some of our favorite Crafty secrets goodies! I decided to make a snow globe ornament using the Retro Christmas digital sheet. The globe is dimensional and filled with pretty sequins and glitter and is eye catching enough to tie to a gift and than hang on the tree! Let me show you how I made it!

I printed out several copies of the image I chose to work with at wallet size to make multiple ornaments. I picked up fill-able plastic ornaments at the craft store that pull apart so you can make 2 globes from one ornament!

The globe is about 3.25" around so I cut a white circle at 3.33 and a blue patterned circle at 3.50" and layered them. Next I hand trimmed the image to create a circular design.

I inked the image lightly with brown ink to add dept and cover up any white edges.

Now cut out just the snowman, and ink the edges as well.

Use foam tape to pop your snowman up just a little!

Paint a wood doily white and adhere to the center of your layered circles with strong adhesive or hot glue. { you don't want your globe going to pieces on you}

Noe adhere your image and cover your snowman with clear glitter for a bit of sparkle!

Place glitter, sequins, snow etc in the center of the globe , this will be your filling.

Place a thin line of strong clear adhesive like Stampin'Ups crystal effects or glossy accents and place over the flat ilayerd image and glitter encasing it. Allow to dry and embellish with ribbon, bells and a tag if desired!

Now it's your turn! Uplaod a new project using crafty secrets supplies to the Crafty Secrets blog and be sure to hop along to see what the whole team has created for this very special Christmastime challenge!

Holiday Cheer

I'm the girl that's always late to the party, always running out the door five minutes after I'm supposed to be at a meeting, willing green lights to await me at the intersections so I can make it on time! I know what you're thinking, being late shows a lack of care or maybe just a disorganized soul...and maybe I am a bit of a mess some days!
The real cause of all my tardiness is an inner desire to do it all! I want to make every minute count, and I often forget to count the minutes! So it's my constant battle to get things done on time, even with all of the modern tech to help me out I still slip up like a jester on a banana peel!

Late with this post...ahem like really late, I was featured on the SRM blog on the 27th of November, with these super cute bottle brush tree topped Tubes filled with kisses.

Glass glitter trimmed tags, snowy trees, and silver stars transform the tube of chocolate into a gift ready to give! And hey they are early for Christmas, even if I'm late posting them! Do me a solid and pop into the SRM blog or the shop where you can order lots of goodies and tell Susan I sent you, maybe that will earn me a few forgiveness points! *wink*

Peppermint sugar scrub gifts

I love gift giving. all occasions. all year.  shoot I even sometimes look for reasons to give gifts!

Here we are at the gift giving Olympics AKA the Holidays and we all want to take the gold this season! I can't think of a better way to warm your heart and the hearts of those you sprinkle with gift giving joy to than a gift you made yourself!

Handmade gifts are thoughtful {sometimes} money saving and are always appreciated. The trick is presentation, if it looks special it will be thought of as special! It doesn't have to be complicated! Just pretty

Like these simple jars filled with peppermint sugar scrub, made by me in just a few minutes, a pretty greeting cut in Vinyl and a candy cane tied to top with a ribbon and a paper pine sprig!

Let It Snow Pop Up Box Card

I had never really given the pop up box cards much thought, I thought they were fun but not really a "card" until I decided to make one. That is after looking at tons of them and watching a few tutorials. I have to admit I'm a bit smitten now that I have made one, I kinda want to make a dozen of them!
I used The vintage Christmas digital set from Crafty secrets and cut the snowflakes with my Silhouette and colored them with copics. There are lots of tutorials out there and the one from Splitcoast Stampers is a great basic way to get started.

here is my card when folded, it's flat enough to send in the mail, but when opened what a surprise! :)

I used sweet little sticker alphas to create a greeting, and a gem snowflake that's been in my stash for longer than I can recall! ( we all have some dusty old beauties don't we?)

The depth and dimension is really fun, reminds me of a diorama card, simple to create but wows anyone who opens it!

I highly recommend playing around with this project and see what creative new ideas you come up with, it really is fun! Happy creating y'all!

A Merry Christmas To You

Good Tuesday Morning!
The temperatures here in Florida have finally fallen below 80 degrees even if only for a day or two, but it sure has lifted my spirits to feel a cool crisp air and be able to wear a soft long sleeve shirt and BOOTS!  I can't help but think about the Christmas countdown as the biggest shopping weekend of the year is almost here!

I locked myself in my studio and pulled the markers off the shelf to color these elegant pine cones from the Crafty Secrets digital Vintage Christmas set. I love that I can import the digital images into my Silhouette and print and cut it at any size I want. I also centered the sentiment in a pretty label and cut it out as easy as pie!

The pine cones are dusted with with a bit of glitter and the pine branches were cut with the Silhouette too. I spritzed the label with a bit of shimmer mist in gold and taffy pink.

I love this peppermint-y pink and red striped paper by My Minds Eye, its so festive! It's one of those papers I will use every scrap of!

Have a wonderful day, I am working all weekend so do some shopping for me too will ya'!?

The Painted Colors Of Fall

This is my favorite card in a while, ( I know a new one will soon be my favorite) but at this very has all the elements of style that I love the most! Sparkle, a big cluster of embellishments, texture, softness, and the unexpected.

A soft pop of pink paint, pairs beautifully with orange, creamsicle, and coral. I added a layer of reverse embossed splatter along with the hand painted stripes, this bit of sparkle is subtle but makes me so happy!

It is still hot here, record breaking temperatures, warm muggy nights that feel all wrong as the get darker sooner, but it is November and all the joys of the season are cherished even with boot wearing time being delayed! :) Pumpkin spice lattes, preparations for family dinner,  and autumn scented candles. Yeah all that good stuff!
