Pantone Color of the Year In Paper!

The Pantone color of 2014 is Radiant Orchid It is actually quite pretty! Despite my lack of love for most things "purple" I'm smitten with this vibrant beautiful shade. If you haven't already, no doubt you will soon see Radiant Orchid in home decor {check out the Valspar paint color} fashion and cosmetics.  I thought it would be fun to share ways to incorporate the color into our paper crafting too.

Sparkle and shimmer, what I ask you could be more Radiant? Orchid paired with kraft, silver and teal is the perfect balance between rustic and regal... swoon....my absolute favorite mix! I coated the Orchid paper with a generous layer of delicious glitter, I love the idea of a road trip in a glittery car!

So whats the big deal? It's just a color right? Well yes it is, but keeping up with the latest trends means your paper craft and art projects will have greater impact and longevity. Choose neutrals or striking color combos for just a bit of Orchid splash add a ribbon or a few buttons.

I made this cute little car and the road trip tag with my Silhouette, I traded out the paper wheels for silver brads and popped it up on an overhanging doily. Oh did I mention this is the tall and skinny sketch from this weeks Mojo Monday challenge?!! I'm loving this nontraditional card shape, it was not so much a challenge as it was refreshing to make a card with this sketch! What a cool scrapbook page this would make too!!!

I agree, you can never have too much happy! I myself will be taking a road trip to see my best friend in a few weeks, Yippee-Skippee!
