A Few Of My Favorite Ornaments

This is our 2010 Fowler Family Christmas tree, Its one of the smallest trees we have had in years, but as a huge bonus we can actually walk around it! We always have a real tree, a tradition my family will not let me change for anything! I grew up with an artificial tree that went up on Thanksgiving day with multicolor lights and lots of garland and tinsel...you all know the kind of tree I'm talking about!!! It was garish and bright, and I loved it despite all its faults! I would sit watching the lights blink on and off for seemingly hours, its one of my favorite childhood memories!  These days my tree is a bit more "grown up" it is covered in years of collecting and when I unwrap the ornaments its like a trip down memory lane! Below are some of my favorites.

Your fav ornaments are so nice - tree very pretty. It's all so fun... We had to start having a 'fake' tree after our (asthmatic) daughter was born... wow what trouble she had that first Christmas...when we realized what was happening hubby pulled the orns off tree and threw it in the front yard...went and bought our first fake. My childhood tree sounds like your's was. Merry Christmas.

Your tree is beautiful ! Isn't it fun to unwrap and hang the ornaments each year - it helps my daughter and I get into the spirit of the season as we recall the whys and hows of each one we hang.

Your tree looks beautiful, Shantaie. I know EXACTLY what you mean about the childhood tree versus the grown-up tree, and especially the trip down memory lane as each ornament is unwrapped. That's my favorite part of decorating for the holidays - it always makes me smile and puts me in the holiday spirit. :)
