Green Girl Birthday card

Now if you are a fan of this stamp set {Always} from stampin'Up! you probably zeroed in on the fact that I cut off birdies little feet {again} I just can't help myself..or I'm just too lazy to cut around his wee little feet, either way it seems I do it every time! This gift card holder is made from a recycled coffee sleeve, and was made for my sisters Birthday. She is a "green girl" and I wanted to be a good earth loving gift giver!
I used the word window punch to cut out the long oval shape to insert the actual gift card holder{this will take multiple punches} You can experiment with different shapes and sizes, for instance it would be cool to insert the gift card vertically as well.

I used reinkers and sponges to dye the previously white flower.
I really struggle with any shade of purple, it reminds me of when I went through a purple only phase at around 9 years old...purple birthday cake{remember grape ape?}, purple jacket, purple ribbons in my hair, purple kool-aid, toothbrush, nail polish, bathing suit *ugh* you just never recover from purple overload!!! I want to forgive & forget all hues of lilac but its just so hard to not feel "9" every time I see it! Can you relate? Did you ever have a "color binge" that you cant seem to shake?
