To flow with my Movie party this card features a a star shaped card that will fit into a square envelope. I embossed core'dinations black magic card stock with the stars embossing folder and sanded away. I cut out stars from the sizzix die stamped the sentiments popped them up on dimensionals.
The little stars are attached to wire so they kind of "float" and sparkle! This is a super easy card to make, and can be made is mass Birthday thank you cards sometimes need to be!

A Rose Gift Set For Avery

This weekend I went to a special baby shower, special because I have known the parents of little Avery for many years, and special because precious Avery was born several weeks early and weighed in at only 2.5 pounds. I'm quite happy to report she is doing well, gaining weight and getting stronger every day- she is a little fighter!! There is nothing I like better than a spunky girl :) I made a towel and washcloth set using a soft flannel, and super soft terry fabric, this embroidery reminded me so much of the mixed bouquet stamp set from Stampin'Up! that I had to make a matching set of thank you cards!
I paired the bold colors of Melon Mambo, and chocolate chip, with the soft shades of pink pirouette, and white. The result is a striking card with a beautiful focal point, that big gorgeous rose. I embossed the roses on water color paper and painted them with reinkers and an aquapainter. I love that you can just keep layering on the color for new effects.

A Star Studded Centerpiece

Happy Wednesday to you, and welcome back to the "party"
All month long we have been celebrating cuttlebug challenge blogs 1st birthday with a themed party that keeps getting better week after week!
I want to start by sharing my party favor with you, I decided after weeks of painful deliberation* grin* to make a CD sleeve for the party guests to skip along home with. To see the complete tutorial visit this post at cuttlebug challange. they are so easy a cave girl could do it! :) Now about that centerpiece I promised you...I had so much fun with this and those dangley stars were so speedy quick I had to stop myself from making dozens! {its cheaper than therapy} at least that's what I keep telling my hubby...although hes starting to catch on that it probably isn't! hehe
The movie reels were made out of two sheets of silver card stock, and I traced a downloaded pattern to get the shape just right. Being the "green wannabe" crafter that I am, I'm pleased to find a use for those ever growing stacks of toilet paper rolls, they have a new life as the spool of my reels. An "old" roll of film was cut in half and rolled up on them. I love the way they came out!

This clapboard was inspired by a plastic version I spotted at a local party store, I just had to try an all paper and customized one for my "chelseawood" red carpet event. This was a labor of love and not for the timid...even with lots of effort it still turned out a little wonky....but if you know me, you know I don't believe in "rules" or "mistakes" and its still cute as can be askew letters and all!
Sure hope you like it...and let me know if you do, Its good for my self esteem *wink*

Let The Pinkalicious Continue....

Someone call "pinkaholics anonymous" I have totally jumped off of the cliff and into an ocean of PINK! There is no turning back now!! Brooke's Birthday is quickly approaching and her Mommy and I have been planning {and plotting} to turn this party into a whimsical fantasy of glitter and frosting...not necessarily in that order :) frosting will most likely be my first priority.
These party blowers are jazzed up pre made blowers I have a printed paper covered in cupcakes, I just cut them out and popped them up with dimensionals, and added stickles, rhinestones and curling ribbon to make them ridiculously sweet!

Every princess needs a wand, and if you are a Pinkalicoius fan you know she is a true "pinkerbell" princess! I found plain white foam star wands and as Emeril would say added a little "BAM"!!
To make the butterflies really shine I coated them in Stampin'Up!s new shimmer paint in frost white after I embossed them. The ribbon ends have felt flowers for flowing in the wind, and sparkly pom pom antennae are super fun! Can you tell I LOVE having "pinkatitus" *wink*
Check back in a few days I will share more ideas for this party...they are going to be ....well adorable and pink!!

Cuttlebug Be Inspired Challenge 49 Mini Album

This mini album was made to go with my movie party theme, for the month of September, I have done my fair share of scrap booking but this Album was a whole new experience! This incorporates the Teresa Collins kit as well as the "rock star" papers I have used all throughout my movie projects. It was SUCH a happy touch of serendipity that the kit worked so well with my theme! I love the completed project! You will be over the moon when you see what the rest of the team has put together for your birthday inspiration! Here
My album title is "paparazzi" very fitting for the movie party theme, and despite the fact that my youngest daughter would ham it up in front of the camera as a young child, she is camera shy these days. She seems to sense when a camera is focused on her, and will only pose for silly I have to sneak up on her, giving me the household nickname of paparazzi!
Below are all the pages of my mini album.
Fun times helping my friends hide from the camera!Chillin' on Halloween..favorite costume ever! Time with Dad feeding the birds.
Yep, that's a marker mustache, she calls this her "Pierre" face.
Silly faces on her birthday, and a reluctant pose for Christmas photos with big sister
She and her friend waiting for a move, even the phones camera is not fast enough!!
Always hiding from the camera, I swear I almost get her...and up comes the arm!
Having a bad hair day..and sleeping peacefuly..Love this tag from Teresa Collins

Edited to add: Trica is the winner of last weeks "party favor" Congrats Trica! her comment: totally a cool idea! I think I will have to steal it for a family movie party! Please email me at with your mailing address so I can send you your goodies!

Happy Birthday Nate!

A Very Happy Birthday Nate!
I made this card for my daughters boyfriend, today is his birthday. I decided that I would post a card for him since he is in New York and I wont be seeing him for a couple of weeks. I'm sure my daughter and my hubby have fun plans for him today...{eat some cake for me today Nate}....mmmmm cake *snap back to reality*
OK how about a few details about my card? I stamped the truck from loads of love onto water color paper then stamped the gifts twice, everything was colored with watercolor crayons and an aquapainter.
I coated the truck and its hubcaps with crystal effects to make it all know how boys are about shiny vehicles! That interesting layer was made with the top note die by turning it sideways and cutting it again. ( cool huh?) ...I did not think it up on my own, if you know who did let me know I would like to give credit where credit is due :) and speaking of credit this awesome layout was inspired by pickled paper designs her card is so cute!

Cuttlebug Be inspired 48 Birthday Bag and Card

Happy Wednesday Everyone and welcome to week two of Birthday celebrations, cuttlebug challenge party palooza! This week the challenge is a simple one.... to make {or decorate} a gift bag and to make a card. Who doesn't from time to time need a bag! I know I always need one last minute! And we all can make a card! I'm Following my theme of "movie party" with this gift bag that would fit right in at tinsel town, and a gift card fit for a movie star, in the background you can catch a sneak peek of my centerpiece that I will be sharing with you in the near future! {I know your excited to see it but you will have to wait} Lets start with my gift card: the card base is very vanilla embossed with the diamond folder, the next layer is "rock star" paper stitched and stamped with stars in black, then a red core'dination star stitched along the edge, and a ticket {its a party} a crown sticker also from rock star,3 black pearls and a large grommet to attach it to your package. Quick and easy.

This tall silver gift bag, has lots of fun mixed textures, and layers. I started by adding stars in gray and red from core'dinations cut with a CB die, embossing and sanding a panel with the star folder, and making an extra long filmstrip{ This was made by folding my paper in half and placing it just above the cutting area to give me a double filmstrip} another ticket from its a party, and make a wish from CuttleBug birthday wishes die and folder combo. Top the whole thing off with a fringe of raspberry pom poms and star brads...and wah-lah!

I want to invite ALL of you to join our challenge this week. When you do, come back here and leave a comment letting me know you entered, and you will be entered to win all the above goodies {minus the good luck sign} This is my "party favor" to you..I cant wait to see what you come up with, no matter what your skill level is we love for you to share with us!! Tell your friends...and get creating :)

Pinkalicious Birthday for Brooke

It all started with an adorable book called "pinkalicious" its Brooke's favorite , and so the party planning is in full all on pink mode! If you are not familiar with this sweet story, its about a girl that only wants to eat pink cupcakes...and ends up turning pink, she lands herself at the doctors office with pinkititis! {how fun is that} and the only way to get rid of it is to eat all green food!
At the party we will serve cupcakes of course, and lots of pink food...with green food to cure us if we end up with pinkititis :) I will be bringing you all of the PINK PINK PINK projects for the party in the next few days....but for now my pinkalicious cupcake invitations!
EEEEEK! that's me imitating Brooke when she sees her invitation, at 4 {almost} she is quite squealalicious! I stamped and paper pieced the simple birthday thanks Stampin up and embossed the cupcake liner, and card base. I added ric rac and pom poms, plus a glittered cherry on top! Yummo

I couldn't leave well enough alone ,instead of being invited all the guests are "pink-vited" I can't wait to show you all the rest!
Don't forget we are celebrating our 1st Birthday at cuttlebug challenge blog, all of our challenges are birthday related this month and as my gift to you I will have a party favor {blog candy} each week for anyone who leaves me a comment and enters the challenge, check this Wednesday for the party favor of the week!

Cuttlebug Be Inspired Birthday Invitations

This week I'm pleased to tell you all about the be inspired challenge at Cuttlebug Challenge Blog. We are creating birthday invitations with core'dinations paper, and as part of our month long celebration each DT member has a theme, mine is a "movie party" I will be sharing tons of ideas and creative projects for this theme. I have kind of a twist on the traditional movie color scheme, instead of black red and yellow, I have chosen a hip cranberry, raspberry, and black combo with a touch of lavender, and creme.
This gorgeous paper is from "Marah Johnson" and is called rock star I purchased it from Michaels.

I started by embossing a cranberry core'dinations paper with the stars cuttlebug embossing folder, and sanded it generously. The next layers of paper were stitched, and the clock embellishment added, on top of that layer I wheeled a flourish onto acetate with stazon ink and placed it behind a sizzix film strip die cut.
A cuttlebug star die placed behind "you re invited" and a ticket stamped and cut out add dimension. the final touch is a bit of cream ribbon and a tab sticker from the rock star series.

This {back stage pass} serves as a party pass and has an RSVP card in the back, guests are instructed to wear their pass to the party for entry. It will also generate a ton of excitement for the upcoming event that I have dubbed "Chelseawood"
I can't wait to share all the party ideas I have with you, for even more inspiration party on over to cuttlebug challenge blog to see all the invitations my "bug sisters" have in store for you!
