Set Sail For a Masculine Birthday

Masculine Birthdays are notoriously difficult, what to buy, what paper to wrap it in and how to make a card that is "manly". As paper crafters we tend to add ribbon and rhinestones when a projects needs a little extra something, but you can accomplish the same effect with less frou frou embellishments.Yesterdays color challenge was bashful blue, so saffron, and close to cocoa, I need a birthday card for a dear friend and these colors lend themselves to a masculine theme. I'm using the sketch from SCS today. All supplies Stampin'Up! unless otherwise stated.
I water colored my main image from SU set sail, and framed it with so saffron inked with close to cocoa. You can't really tell in the photo that the blue layer is embossed with the argyle CB folder, and the Manchester DSP from SU is cut with the long scallop nestie. Grommets set with cropadile, and rope is cording from a sewing project. I pierced along the edge of the saffron layer and added hemp cord across bottom.
